My Jenny, Hidden Falls and Jackson Hole

We had two nights at the cabins at the Lake at Yellowstone. They were a bit more quaint and updated compared to the Old Faithful cabins. There was a definite wilderness feel that was enunciated by the presence of wild buffalo that roamed between our cabins. I saw one right outside my bathroom window in the morning. They didn't seem to mind at all.

Do you see what I see?

Reminants of the 1988 fire in Yellowstone. Rebirth of a forest. Oddly enough, the seeds of the burned pines are opened by the fire itself. Mother nature can take care of itself.

From one park, to the other...

In order to get to Hidden Falls at the base of the Grand Tetons you can either hike around the lake, or take the ferry. We thought the kids would enjoy the ferry across beautiful Jenny Lake. Joe and I hiked the lake 2 years ago, and oddly enough, those vistas proved to be just if not more beautiful than the ones we saw today at the overlook.

The kids met up with some other kids and quickly became buddies.

Hidden Falls is known for being frequented by bears. Hikers are reminded to not leave any backpacks on the ground as the bears will swipe them. No bears today.

Danek played hide and seek with a furry friend amidst the boulders.

New found friends.

The overlook view of Jenny Lake.

A ride in the coach around the town of Jackson Hole.

Jackson Hole's famous arches.

An icon of Jackson Hole.

A Jackson Hole traffic jam. The mules are quite patient.

These fellas were suring up the arches. The chap on the ground would effortlessly toss the antlers to his buddy on top who in turn would thread the antler through the arch so as to add it its stability. They were very interesting to watch.
