Knoebel's Letterboxing Gathering

We had a great time at our first Letterboxing Gathering. Here Danek and Evelyn eagerly approach our new friends.
This is the feeding frenzy of stamping that we were warned about. The stamping and finding of close letterboxes went on for over two hours. Everyone was involved and discussing their letterboxing adventures. Notice the odd rocks at the end of the table. Wonder if they meant anything? Hmm..
Joe is hard at work inking up his stamp. Our travelers require many colors and thus much time and personal attention. Joe's traveler can be seen on his name tag.
Everyone is down and dirty with the stamping and ink. I thought dyeing eggs at Easter was messy, this was just as much so, but even more fun.
We were very excited to meet our mentors, RGBisMe and True Indigo. We just couldn't wait to hear the voices behind the words of our new friends that we have emailed with over the last few months. They joined us on some rides including the Phoenix. Of course Joe couldn't help but taunt True Indigo about some of her difficult clues that require language translation and lots of thought.
I think these were the cheesiest fries we have ever seen.

PA Paddler (Joe) discusses some clues and adventures with Lightning Bug and True Indigo while the kids look for more gems.
Evelyn and Danek shared their finds with some of our fellow boxers.
Danek found some great gems.
Danek found these coal drawings along side a picnic table. I thought it was quite fitting that he would be excited about Squidward and Spongebob as he was one of our helpers in creating our letterboxing series of "Spongebob's Letterboxing Adventure".
A big thank you to Cyclonic for organizing this event. Even though we are new we felt very much at home with all of our fellow boxers.
