Susquehanna Sculptures

These are part of a series of photos taken in early August of 2005 with river levels at Harrisburg of 3.0 feet. These were taken below the dam near Falmouth (pronounced "foul mouth" not "fall mouth" a lifelong local abruptly informed me) just a mile or so from TMI. Incredible formations produced over eons of water flow that included rocks and gravel to abrade and erode the bedrock. Excellent examples of "potholes" formed by gravel collecting in a depression and swirling to enlarge and deepen hole until it erodes entirely through.
